Im So going there

I know I have stated before that I will try to stay away from anything religious or political but this one has my panties in a bunch!!  Supermodel Gisele Bundchen did an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK for their September issue:

“New mom Gisele Bundchen–who famously gave birth to 8-month-old son Benjamin at home in a bathtub –tells the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK that she thinks breastfeeding should be mandatory for the first six months of the child’s life.  The 30-year-old supermodel told the magazine “Some people here [in the U.S.] think they don’t have to breastfeed, and I think ‘Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?’” adding “I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months.”
In the interview, Mrs. Tom Brady also reveals her post-baby body secret: “I think breastfeeding really helped [me keep me figure].”

This was released in the media on August 2nd.  I have a few issues with her statements, especially after she recanted some of this the following day making the following statements on her blog:
“My intention in making a comment about the importance of breastfeeding has nothing to do with the law. It comes from my passion and beliefs about children.”

My first issue is that there is no mention of what if a mother can’t breast feed due to medical reasons.  In her recant she did mention that everyone has there own experience and she isn’t
there to judge.”  In my case I was given the option I could but due to some medications I take may or may not affect the baby, so I chose not too.  You want to know the truth I had no intention of breast feeding anyway, I was relieved when doctors gave me an out.  Does this make me a bad mom?  Maybe to some of you but you know what I don’t care:)  I made a decision I knew was best for me and ultimately my child.

Am I anti-breast feeding??  Of coarse not, if you want to breast feed please go right ahead.  Do I mind seeing it in public?? Not as long as you are breast feeding an infant and not your 6 year old (if you feel the need to breast feed your older child please do it at home), (Michaels Christmas 2008, is all I have to say to my family)!  Do I have a problem with people pushing breastfeeding on me???  Hell Ya!!!  My body, my child, my decision!!!  Do I feel like I have less of a bond with my children than a nursing mother????  Nope….so you know what Mrs. Brady…..bite me:)
If I have upset any of my readers I am sorry but this is my blog and my opinions… so like me or don’t:)
